DIY Color Block Dresser

I recently revamped a mid-century dresser I purchased at a local thrift store for $20.  I was inspired by {this} little beauty at Anthropologie. I decided to give the color blocking a try.

If you are into vintage furniture then you must Restore A Finish. It is such a time saver.  Instead of sanding down and totally refinishing a piece of furniture you just purchase {this} stuff and paint right over the existing finish.  It it gives it the glow of freshly refinished wood.

So, the project went as follows:
1. Bought a dresser for $20
2. Bought supplies at a local hardware store:
Restore A Finish, 3 various spray paint colors
3. I restored the finish on the dresser
4. Taped off the lines on the dresser and spray painted the dresser

Wow.  Simple enough right? Total cost: roughly $45. Total time: 1 hour.

Swoon Worthy: Fashion for Home

Since recently moving into our first home, I have been obsessed with filling it with the perfect home furnishings and decor.  I would say I love an eclectic-mid-century-traveler look, if one could balance all three.

I adore mid-century inspired furniture, and if you do as well, I have the perfect site for you! You simply must check out Fashion for Home.  They have all your furniture needs in designs that will make your jaw drop and your eyes pop out with excitement! One of the best arts?  Free delivery!   That is one obstacle that hinders me purchasing furniture online.  Obstacle: concurred.

Let me show you some of their swoon worthy items. Take these sleeper sofas for example:

Chic, affordable, and functional. It is best to go with simple large pieces of furniture (in terms of color) and mix and match the accessories. That way you may change up the room with minimal accessory costs in the future.

Annnnndddd for my living room, how about some mid-century inspired chairs and a lovely round table for two? Yes please!

I seriously adore the selection of dressers. I may have to get this one to match my anthropologie bed spread.

If only I had a limitless budget to get all my desired home decor needs.  I have purchased one item from Fashion for Home. It is on it's way and I will be sure to write about it once it arrives.  Until then, it shall be a mystery.  If you could pick one item from the shop, what would you choose?

Must Watch: He Was Scared and Lonely Like Me.

I am more like you than you may think, and vice versa.  When we see ourselves in others, it is a gift.  Music can be a wonderful venue to receive such a gift.  We may not look alike, sound alike, or walk alike, however if you look closely and carefully without the tarnish of judgement, you will see your reflection in all people.

Taking a Break . . .

Hello loves.  The hubs and I just bought our first home and we are absolutely delighted to decorate and make it our own.  I will be taking a couple weeks off to have time to settle into our new place.  When I come back I will be sure to share the before and after pictures of how we made our house a home. Take care!

“…I’d rather help than watch. I’d rather have a heart than a mind. I’d rather expose too much than too little. I’d rather say hello to strangers than be afraid of them. I would rather know all this about myself than have more money than I need. I’d rather have something to love than a way to impress you”.
